La Croix is a fizzy water I recall always being around, a real OG sparkling water if you will. Established in ‘81, La Croix is the drink of Millennials (apparently). The drink came out at a time when sparkling water competition was scarce, in a market that was certainly not as fierce as it is presently. Yet it’s popularity prevails, with dozens of flavors to choose from, including classics like Lemon and Lime to more unique flavors like Beach Plum.
One thing La Croix has going for it over many other sparkling waters is what I consider to be the perfect fizz. The bubbles are not overly aggressive, providing a pleasant, firm tingle. It’s bubbly yet smooth and easy to drink. I’ve been impressed overall with the La Croix flavors I’ve tried. But not surprisingly, some are better than others. Read on for a review of all of the La Croix sparkling water flavors I’ve tried (so far).
New! Sunshine
Sunshine, which gives you zero real clues about its flavor, is La Croix's newest flavor (as of this writing in April 2025). The can features bold yellow flowers that I assume are sunflowers, successfully withholding flavor clues also. Of course, I assumed it would turn out to be some sort of citrus drink, but was surprised to find something more tropical in flavor. It's definitely pineapple-forward with some other flavors playing supporting roles. To La Croix's credit, it does have a pretty smooth flavor, the supporting flavor actors doing an admirable job of allieviating the artificiality that plagues most sparkling water pineapple flavors. It's a decent flavor, just not my favorite.
Beach Plum La Croix
A plum might just be *the* perfect fruit to turn into sparkling water because let’s be honest, they’re kind of a watery-tasting fruit, right? Don’t get me wrong, plums have this light sweetness to them with just enough of a hint of tartness to keep the flavor interesting. La Croix’s Beach Plum mimics this flavor profile quite well; I even get subtle hints that lean a little peach, which is just fine by me! I enjoy Beach Plum quite a bit, it’s totally sip-worthy and in the rotation.

Berry La Croix
It's berry good! It reminds me a lot of Bubly's Blackberry sparkling water, which is one of my favorites! I think the berry notes here read more blackberry in that it's got more tart going on as opposed to sweet flavors. If you were hoping for something say more strawberry or raspberry leaning I think you'll be disappointed, but if you dig the tart, slightly bitter flavor profile of blackberry you'll love it.
Black Razzberry La Croix
LOVE. Blackberry meets raspberry to create one berry-forward drink, the piercing tart sweetness of raspberries complementing the mellow earthy tartness of blackberries. It’s really lovely. Highly drinkable, Black Razzberry is a flavor I buy frequently, especially since the Aldi’s near me usually carry it.
Coconut La Croix
I looked at Coconut La Croix dozens of times before finally deciding to purchase. Why? Because Coconut flavored sparkling waters are often too artificial tasting to be worth the money. We're talking tropical-scented suntan lotion artificial. La Croix's Coconut does a decent job of toning down the artificiality, but I think the resulting flavor is heavy on the vanilla notes. The coconut flavor itself is still.... off. I don't love it, but I don't hate it either. But I'm more likely to opt for Vita Coco Coconut Water (even though it contains calories) if I need to get my coconut drink on.
Guava La Croix
Maybe my palate shows unsophistication here, but I don’t care for Guava. To me Guava La Croix has a very floral profile. It tastes like roses smell is the best way I can describe it. A friend of mine thinks Guava is fantastic for this reason. But I’m just not quite on board. If you’re into floral-tasting fizzy waters, I think you’ll like it. I can’t help but feel like Guava is missing something, or would be better mixed with something else, like a fruit juice.
LimonCello La Croix
I like it, but I don’t love it. You know? Like when I think of limoncello I think it should have a good balance of sweet and tart and be easy to drink. I get super strong vanilla notes that make La Croix’s LimonCello venture too far from what I expect it to taste like. It smells great, just like lemon zest, but the lemon flavor is just too muted. It’s pretty great mixed with a little pineapple juice, which makes it taste like a pineapple upside-down cake mocktail (probably be fantastic with a splash of grenadine and a maraschino cherry). It’s tasty, it’s just not executed well if the goal was limoncello and reads more like vanilla with a hint of citrus.
Mojito La Croix
La Croix's Mojito is a miss for me... the mint is all wrong. Ever tried Trident Spearmint gum? That's what this attempt at a Mojito tastes like. The mint is overpowering and frankly kind of unpleasant and artificial tasting. I was excited for this one, but it's a hard pass for me, a real Mojit-NO.
I recommend opting for Spindrift's Nojito or Mint Green Tea instead.
Orange La Croix
Orange La Croix tastes just like orange zest smells. It’s crisp, orange-scented, and lovely, a classic flavor you can’t go wrong with. I do wish that the flavor was bolder like Tangerine is.
Peach-Pear La Croix
This leans more pear to me and I'm not mad about it. The flavor vaguely reminds me of eating canned pears in juice, which I recall enjoying as a kid. The peach notes bring the juiciness and sweetness that pears just can't match. I like it.
Pamplemousse La Croix
I love La Croix's fancy fizzy take on grapefruit. Pamplemousse is fun to say and sip. Lightly tart and grapefruit citrus forward, the fizz and citrus levels are on point, hit aggressively, then fade out pleasantly. If I find myself wasting time deciding what La Croix flavor to stock up on during a sale, I reach for Pamplemousse. Tried and true, always refreshing.
If you dig Pamplemousse from La Croix, try Grapefruit Bubly.
Pasteque (Watermelon)
Better than most watermelon sparkling waters I've tried! It tastes like a watered-down watermelon laffy taffy. Needless to say it gives off more candy-like watermelon vibes as opposed to drinking watermelon water.
For a fantastic homemade Watermelon Water recipe.
Razz-Cranberry La Croix
Razz-Cranberry is tart on tart and I like it. I feel it starts raspberry heavy in flavor, teasing a little sweetness, then abruptly gives you another serving of tart as cranberry takes over. The perfect place to drink this is alongside a hearty and comforting holiday dinner, like Thanksgiving. The tart-on-tart flavor of Razz-Cranberry cuts through richness and is one perfect palate cleanser.
Give Polar's Blood Orange Cranberry a try if you like Razz-Cranberry.
Strawberry Peach
Absolutely wonderful! Juicy peach notes, juicy strawberry notes, meaning they both lean towards sweet, ripe-tasting fruit. I get peach first followed by strawberry, the duo of flavors are super complementary. This is now officially one of my favorite La Croix flavors.
Tangerine La Croix
Tangerine La Croix is spot on. I was expecting it to be nearly indistinguishable from Orange La Croix, but was pleasantly surprised when - drinking them side by side - I noticed that Tangerine has that signature sweet citrus flavor the fruit possesses. You know the one, that sweet, kind of tangy citrus flavor that isn't as tart as an orange. It's fantastic and you should definitely pick up Tangerine La Croix if you're a fan of the fruit - and sparkling water.
La Croix FAQ
The best La Croix flavor - if I had to choose - is Beach Plum.
Note: There are quite a few La Croix flavors I have yet to try, but Beach Plum is my favorite so far.
