This Creamy Salsa Dressing is creamy, zesty, and bright, and is just begging to be drizzled over cold chopped vegetable salads, tacos and burritos, nachos, and more!

The bulk of this dressing consists of sour cream and salsa, and is rounded out with a generous dollop of mayo, fresh lime juice, and a few choice seasonings. This Creamy Salsa Dressing could also be considered a sour cream salsa sauce, as it's perfect for topping tacos (like these Walleye Fish Tacos) and tostadas (like these Tuna Tostadas) - and other dishes beyond the obvious atop salads and rice bowls.
Note: I have heard that Chick-Fil-A serves a creamy salsa dressing, but I can't say I've tried it. If you came here looking for Chick-Fil-A's Creamy Salsa Dressing, this isn't it BUT I promise this recipe is amazing.

You're going to love this Creamy Salsa Dressing
Because, let me count the ways:
- It's delicious! It's creamy, zesty, and bright. It literally hugs whatever you drizzle it on, from cold salads to Chicken Fajita Tacos. It's thin enough to be a dressing and works well as a dip for nachos, like these Air Fryer Nachos.
- It's easy to make! A blender and a handful of ingredients are all you need to create one delicious and versatile sauce.
- It lasts! Well, it might not last you this long because it is so delicious, but this Creamy Salsa Dressing keeps for up to 2 weeks when stored in a lidded container in the refrigerator.
Ingredients

I'm pumped for you to make this because it is seriously so easy to make (thanks blender!), pairs well with so many dishes, including this Instant Pot Salsa Chicken, and lasts for up to 14 days in the refrigerator!
- Sour cream - I use full-fat sour cream, but low-fat should work here too.
- Chunky salsa - I use Pace medium salsa because of nostalgia reasons, but use any chunky salsa you enjoy.
- Mayo - A little mayo lends creaminess, I used a mayo made with olive oil.
- Lime juice - Brings the acid, use fresh-squeezed lime juice if you can, but lime juice concentrate works just fine.
- Seasonings - While the chunky salsa will bring much of the flavor, I like to add a little smoked paprika, cumin, garlic powder, and cayenne pepper (optional).
*This Creamy Salsa Dressing makes approximately 2 cups. You MUST try this dressing with Taco Salad, like this Doritos Walking Taco Salad.

Substitutions
- Chunky salsa - If Pace salsa isn't your jam, try Tostito's or Chi-Chi's chunky salsa instead.
- Sour cream. I have seen other similar recipes that use plain Greek yogurt instead of sour cream. I see no reason why you couldn't make that substitution here.
- Seasonings - You can use any combination of seasonings you'd like to kick things up. I recommend onion powder, chili powder, and oregano. I find it helpful to start with the salsa and think about what seasonings might best enhance the flavor.
How to Make Creamy Salsa Dressing - Directions

- Step 1: Add all ingredients to a blender (or food processor) and blend for 15-20 seconds, or until smooth.

- Step 2: The dressing should be thin and pourable, with no chunks. Blend an additional few seconds if necessary.
If possible, refrigerate for 24 hours before using because the flavor intensifies over time.

Recipe FAQs

You do not have to use Pace salsa in this recipe if you'd prefer to use something else. I grew up on Pace salsa so the nostalgia made me do it! I recommend that you use a CHUNKY salsa, or your resulting dressing will be thinner and not as creamy and full-bodied.
Note: I have not tried this recipe with another type of salsa, so if you try something other than Pace please let me know how it turned out!
Store this Creamy Salsa Dressing in a lidded container in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks. Remove it from the refrigerator for a few minutes before serving to help the dressing loosen up as it gets thicker when chilled.
If your dressing is a bit thin, try adding a little extra mayo and sour cream, a little at a time, until its to your liking. Conversely, if you're having the opposite problem and it's too thick, try adding an extra squeeze of lime juice, some of the liquid from your salsa, or a few dashes of hot sauce.
